It’s now officially Saturday here meaning that today is the last day for US portalmasters to take advantage of Toys R Us’ SWAP Force preorder deal. As I’ve said several times during the course of the offer, this is currently the best deal available for SWAP Force preorders since their ad clearly states that any character priced $9.99-10.99 is eligible.
If you dig into the comments left by portalflippers regarding this deal you’ll see that this offer wasn’t well communicated to stores. It does not show up on your receipt in any way and when you checkout you’re supposed to enter your email where as far as anyone can tell will be the method in which TRU will deliver your coupons. Not to sound like a broken MP3 but if you plan on taking advantage of this offer I highly recommend keeping a physical copy of the ad with your receipt. This is what I’ve done in order to avoid issues on launch day.
Since today is the last for the SWAP Force preorder offer, TRU has started another ad designed to get you to make them your Skylanders HQ. I received a catalog in the mail that has a coupon for 20% off any Skylander figure or accessory as well as a coupon for $10 off any purchase of $50 or more.
Unfortunately it does state that you need the original coupon so you’ll have to get your hands on a physical copy. The coupons are valid from 6/28 to 7/20 and are perfect if you still have some large purchases left. While you may not have the same luck, when buying the Trigger Happy dart guns the clerks counted them as accessories so I was able to get a discount on them.
The catalog also advertises a free lunch kit with a $12.99 backpack purchase. Skylander themed lunch boxes and backpacks are shown so you may want to start your back to school shopping early. This offer is also available online if you’re not local to a TRU.
